The Philippine Embassy registers deaths of Filipino citizens who were in Sweden, Estonia, Lativa or Lithuania at the time of their death. Below are the requirements.

The Embassy will forward the Report of Death to the National Statistics Office (NSO) in the Philippines. The deceased's relatives may retrieve the NSO-certified Death Certificate in the Philippines a minimum three (3) months after reporting the death at the Embassy.
The Philippine Embassy also assists in the shipment of remains back to the Philippines of Filipino citizens who were in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania at the time of their death. Below are the requirements.

Mortuary certificate attesting that 1) the body of the deceased was properly embalmed in accordance with internationally accepted health practices, 2) the body of the deceased is in a sanitary condition for shipment abroad, and 3) the casket has been hermetically sealed and contains only the remains of the deceased

Non-contagious disease certificate (issued by the proper health authority) attesting that the deceased did not die of a contagious disease or that the remains to be shipped did not originate from a location contaminated by a contagious disease

Transit permit or laissez-passer for a corpse (issued by the proper health authority)

Photocopy of the deceased’s passport

All the original documents listed 1 to 4 above and their English translations must be authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the documents were issued

Important notes:

The outer coffin must be provided with at least four handles

If there is any communicable disease relating to the death, the remains should not be accompanied by persons or articles which have been exposed to the infectious disease. If the person or articles which have been exposed to the infectious disease have been properly disinfected and this is certified by the local health officer in the country of origin, such persons or articles may accompany the remains

All documents that are not in English should be accompanied by an English translation and should be carried by the person accompanying (if available) the remains for delivery to the appropriate government authorities upon arrival in the Philippines

A consular officer of the Embassy shall seal or be present at the sealing of the metal casket or box and certify that the casket or box contains only the body of the deceased. The facts stated in the certificate must have been adequately investigated and personally known to the consular officer

The Embassy shall issue its own corresponding mortuary certificate
