Barangay Stockholm was founded in 1997 primarily to promote friendship and camaraderie among filipino youths in Stockholm through sport. The association´s primary goal is to help the Filipino youth integrate themselves to the ways of the Swedish system and give them activities to look forward to and meet fellow Filipinos for interaction. The association holds a yearly all Filipino basketball tournament to engage not only Filipino youths living in Stockholm but Filipinos as a whole in the Kingdom of Sweden, to have a sense of belonging in our Filipino community in Stockholm.
