Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy Tobias Billström has accepted the invitation of the Philippine Government to visit the country in late 2012 or the first quarter of 2013.

Bayanihan ng Bayan: Anong Taya Mo Para Sa Bayan is a five-day event, from 24-28 January 2012, aimed at promoting volunteerism and encouraging commitments from all over the Philippines to help rebuild the areas in Northern Mindanao devasted by tropical storm Washi "Sendong".
